Bourton-on-the-Water set in the idyllic Cotswolds in England, is one of the sweetest, prettiest villages I’ve visited in England. Bourton is know as the ‘Venice of the Cotswolds’ with its four (or five) old stone bridges crossing the River Windrush. It is located in the county of Gloucestershire, one of my most favorites places in the country & definitely in need of a visit if you’re in the UK. My advice is to not go during the day in summer as it will be bustling with nowhere to park. Getting there early is advised.
I’ve never stayed right in Bourton-on-the-Water but I did look into it when I last went there (once wasn’t enough for me & this charming village) & there’s several Airbnb places. There’s also several B & Bs & hotels. Some with better reviews than others so keep that in mind. This place, Halford House has stellar reviews. There’s also the wonderful Model Village. You can eat & stay at the Old New Inn, which together with the model village have been purchased by a couple & it all looks quite lovely. Whether you decide to stay in Bourton-on-the-Water or not, you definitely have to include a day-trip into your schedule when you’re visiting the UK.
