Hello there, I’m Lovoni. If you’re here you either stumbled upon me, you’d like to work with me or you’d like to know a little more. For over two decades I’ve worked with food in publishing, television & online as a TV host, a recipe creator, food stylist, food editor, cookbook author, food photographer & project manager. During this time, I’ve worked on hundreds of cookbooks, co-written 80 cookbooks (give or take), authored six & have self-published one titled ‘Simple, Fresh, Delicious’. “Self-published” as in, my company borrowed the money, hired the people, created all the content, went to Singapore to spend days at the end of a massive printing press watching my book be printed, did all my own marketing for it traveling around Canada promoting it, book signings, 6 AM starts on live TV…and such. It was epic. It was because of this cookbook that I came to host my own national Canadian television cooking show with the same title. All four seasons, 52 episodes, were filmed in my studio & on location all over Canada and it’s the absolute most fun I’ve had during my career.
Born & raised in Sydney, Australia I’m a proud Aussie but I’m also half English & hold American and Canadian citizenships. My Pa, born in New Zealand, moved to Fiji as a young boy & lived close to a village called ‘Lovoni‘. And that’s where my name is from. A ‘Lovo‘ is an ‘underground oven’ – if your name is your destiny then I was born to cook. I studied culinary arts in Sydney & started my career in publishing & TV in my hometown before moving abroad & working for clients all over the world. I live in the US, but I’m a gypsy at heart & love to travel, meet new people, learn about new cultures, discover new places. And my plan is to have a second home in the UK or Europe.
Apart from cooking, I co-host a podcast about health & wellness (I’m a certified nutritionist). Passionate about traveling & exploring the food & customs of other countries. My other loves are: gothic-style houses & castles; creating simple, cosy interiors; growing my own food; good wine; adventure; the water – ocean, rivers, babbling brooks; good music; the arts; woodlands & all things whimsical…& creating. I’m drawn to those who love to create. I love inspiring people to cook, eat well & squeeze as much juice out of life as possible. I’d love to connect so please drop me a line. Thanks for being here.
